From Brazil to Silver city, Alice Fujita-Schwarz not only has her PhD in food science she also has an avid love for gardening and basket weaving! She started her art business specializing in Ikebana basket weaving. BasketBana located in Silver City, New Mexico offers hand woven baskets with unique floral arrangements.
Jamal Rountree - Jablaze
Jamal Rountree channeled his love of cooking and fusion food into an exciting project for the pallets of Silver City. Located at La Bonita Bakery, Jablaze offers a unique delicious menu!
"Jablaze is a pop up restaurant In a small town in New Mexico founded on June 20, 2023 by chef Rountree he start in the back kitchen in las Vegas Nevada continued his journey in the state of New Mexico Working side-by-side with many chefs of the town he decided to open his own restaurant with the help of several chefs We provide a variety culture to our food.”
Helene and Gabriel Holguin - Hanover Outpost and Brewery
Helene and Gabriel Holguin with shared experience in business management and decades of beer brewing experience, they hope to open up their very own brewery and event space inside the historical Hanover Outpost located on the NM Highway 152 after Gabriel retires from the Gila National Forest.
Marnie Raelene - Repurposed Lights
Originally from Washington, Marnie and her husband found an outlet in creating decorative lights using old glass bottles in Silver City. Using these repurposed materials they were able to create beautiful outdoor and home decorations as well as making a positive impact on the planet by recycling what others might just throw into the trash. Marnie’s business venture inspires creativity and environmental awareness.

She has her degree in English and continues to fill her life with books and music by providing Silver City residents with an emporium filled with captivating literature, graphic novels in all genres and stirring music for any taste. Located in Downtown Silver City.

William ‘Coakee’ Wildcat - Mother Tree Food & Forest
Originally from the Oklahoma Seminole Nation, Coakee now lives here in Grant County where he has brought his vast knowledge in mycology, botany, ecology and zoology and formed the eco restoration project - Mother Tree Food & Forest with the goal of educating people on becoming caring stewards of the land that we live on.
